Florence has been the center of the European medieval finance and trade and which considers as the birthplace of Renaissance and as Athens during the middle Ages. Over the period of time, Florence was ruled by numerous republicans and religious revolutions.

Florence has numerous art galleries and museums like Pitti Palace and Uffizi Gallery. The city is also known for having strong influence in Italian Fashion and was ranked as top fifty among the world’s fashion capital.

Tourism plays an important role in central Florence. Tourist from all over the world outnumbered the local population during the month of April to October. Tickets to Accademia and Uffizi museums are sold
out during these months. And huge groups of tourist usually fill the Santa Croce and Santa Maria Novella basilicas.

It was believed that Florence has the biggest concentration in arts and architecture in the whole world. Therefore, many tourists have strong interest especially in the world renowned museums like Uffizi.

Other known tourist sites in Florence are The Duomo, Campanile and Baptistery buildings. The dome takes 600 years in completion and it is the largest dome made of mortar and bricks in the world.

At the center of the city is Piazza della Signoria and the famous Bartolomeo Ammanati’s, The Fountain of Neptune. It is a marvelous masterpiece made from marble.
